Motor Controller and Driver ICs

Motion motor control ICs are available for nearly all types of motors.  Optimal control of AC, DC, brushed, brushless, stepper, servo and other types of motors can be greatly simplified by using a dedicated motor controller.  Motor controllers can perform very basic functions like converting a pulse width modulated voltage to a motor current, or they may perform very complex functions like positional or rotational control using sensor feedback.  Choosing the right option for a design requires detailed knowledge of the type of motor to be used and the requirements of the system in which the motor is to be integrated.
