ENGLEWOOD, C.O. – Feb. 23, 2009 –Providing engineers and equipment at its Atlanta Solutions Center, Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW], has completed a four-month project with Agilysys Inc. and Itron Inc. [NASDAQ: ITRI] to test Itron Enterprise Edition™ Meter Data Management (IEE MDM) and its support of more than 9.6 million hourly meters.

The project represents the largest-scale independent test in the meter data management industry to date. Stress testing MDM solutions against relevant benchmarks is essential to the due diligence process, as utilities depend on the test results to select the best solution for their needs. These demonstrations help reduce the need for external benchmarking in the project evaluation stage for utilities.  Formal benchmark results confirm the capabilities of a MDM product.

“This recent benchmark testing proved that IEE MDM not only meets the current needs of the largest utility companies, but can scale to meet increasingly sophisticated large-scale advanced metering solutions,” said Julie Hance, vice president of Itron software solutions.  “This project could not have been completed without the support we received from Agilysys and Arrow ECS.”

When Itron enlisted Agilysys’ help with performing the testing, Agilysys called on Arrow ECS for additional support.  Through its solutions centers located in Atlanta and Indianapolis, Arrow ECS provides demonstration equipment that simulate how technology will perform when installed in a given information technology environment.  Arrow ECS’ team of certified engineers at the solutions center supported Agilysys during the entire project.
